Stephen McCarthy
Stephen is the founder and Managing Director of Astra Construction Service Ltd, a house building company of multi-unit family homes. Since 1985 the Company has developed more than 2,000 homes. He has concentrated the business in the Carrigaline area of Cork and the company has gone from strength to strength in that time. He has developed a reputation for high quality workmanship and has never deviated from that position. Indeed this fact is endorsed by the amount of repeat business generated over the years by many families. Stephen believes in fostering a love of sport and a sense of community and has contributed greatly to the various sporting organisations and amenities in Carrigaline.
in 2017 commenced construction of the 40 Ha Janeville Development in Carrigaline, Co. Cork comprising 800 homes in 2 storey & 3 storey timberframe construction. A former Chairman of the Irish Home Builders Association 2013 – 2015, the CIF Cork Executive Branch, and is the current Chairman of HomeBond from 2015. He represents the CIF Cork branch at CIF National Executive meetings, and is a member of the Cork County Council Economic Development & Enterprise Strategic Policy Committee.
